Female Symbol
A gender symbol is a symbol used to
denote the sex of a life form or the gender of a human being.
A common symbol used to represent
the female sex is
a circle with a small cross
underneath. According to Schott, the most
established view is that the male and female symbols "are derived from
contractions in Greek script of the Greek names of these planets, namely
Thouros (Mars) and Phosphoros (Venus).
These derivations have been traced
by Renkama, who illustrated how Greek letters can
be transformed into the graphic male and female symbols still recognised
today." Thouros was abbreviated by θρ (male, mars) and Phosphoros by Φκ
(female,venus) which were contracted
into the modern symbols.
Combing/Brushing without spoiling your Hair
Use a brush
whose bristles are made from natural animal hairs, it is softer and more
flexible, which means less damage will be done to your hair.
Hair is most fragile when it is
wet so avoid brushing or combing when it's wet, or else it will cause breakage.
Wait until your hair is almost completely dry before brushing it.
Use brushes/combs with widely
spaced bristles/teeth and smooth tips. Sharp tooth combs can damage your hair,
cause split ends, and scratch your scalp.
To keep your brushes and combs
clean, wash them weekly using soap or shampoo.
Comb your hair to remove any
tangles before brushing it.
Begin by combing your hair gently
at the ends to get any tangles out and work your way up to the base of your
hair.
Always brush/comb with a
downwards stroke.
Avoid using plastic brushes/combs
which create static electricity
How to apply fake eye lashes
Long eyelashes can make eyes look bigger, fuller and more inviting, but not all of us are
blessed with sky-high lashes. Thankfully, modern civilization invented false
eyelashes, which come in various styles, colours, and sizes. If you learn how
to put them on correctly, no one will ever guess that they're not yours.
Firstly,
trim the lashes. If the lash is wider than your eye, trim one side of it
lash by lash.
Optionally, trim the
individual lashes to make them look more natural. They should be
longer towards the outer corner of the eye then make sure there is barely any
gap between your real eye lashes and the fake, and the lash length should vary
slightly.
Squeeze
eyelash glue onto the back of your hand and run the eyelash along
it. Blow softly from edge to edge to make the glue a
little less runny to apply your lashes.
Pick
the lashes up with tweezers and bring it as close to your natural lash line as possible.
Press
from end to end and hold until the glue dries (30
seconds to a minute, or sometimes less depending upon the adhesive). This allows the glue to set so that when you
lift your fingertips from it, the lashes won't come along for the ride.
Apply mascara while pressing your finger behind the fake lashes. This will bond the false lashes with yours.(It
may be beneficial to use an eyelash curler before applying mascara)
Fill
any gaps between the false lashes and your natural lash line
with eyeliner.
And you re done .....

5 ways to a smooth relationship
Learning all of the
ways to keep your relationship going is not easy is it? Relationships are hard,
all of them, but finding all of the right ways can be harder to follow.
So ladies, I’ve
compiled the top 5 ways to keep it going so that in no time at all you’ll be able
to do the right way.
There has to be give
and take
In any relationship,
there has to be a give and take. You can’t constantly have a taker in the
relationship because than the giver gets worn out, but if you constantly have a
giver but no taker, it doesn’t work either. An even balance is a great way to
start a relationship.
Don t fight, talk it
out
While every
relationship has it’s ups and downs, one of the ways is to talk it all out, not
fighting it all out. If you have a conflict, if you have a problem, talking it
out instead of fighting it out is going to be the best option.
It’s ok to still be
you
Remember, one of the
keys and ways is to know that it’s completely okay to still be you. You should
never have to change for a man to like you or for you to keep him. So make sure
that you are still you.
Make him feel needed
Men like to feel
needed, like to really feel like you need them, so ladies, it’s our job to make
them feel at least a little needed. Whether it is to be your rock or it is to
fix your bathroom sink. Make him feel like you need him.
Don’t cling
Of course, all of us
ladies do cling to a certain extent, but you definitely want to make sure that
you are not clinging all of the time, that you are not a clingy girlfriend. If
your man wants to have a boy’s night out, let him! Go out with the girls!
Remember, you are still who you are.
Tricks and Tips for Mascara
·
If your mascara is too thick, it is probably time to buy a new tube.
Thicker mascara is harder to apply and often gives your lashes the kind of
spider look that isn't too appealing.
·
To further prevent clumping, when you apply your mascara, place the wand
at the base of the eyelashes. Apply mascara with back-and-forth sawing motion.
The bristles of the wand will separate lashes. This way, you'll get mascara on
each individual lash, instead of clumping five eyelashes together.
To get more product on the mascara wand, place it inside the tube and
twirl it. Do not pump it in and out, as this will pump air into the tube and
cause your mascara to dry out faster.
·
You must check to see if the lash base is coated as close to the skin as
possible, as this shows up the shape of the eye and makes the look very
natural. If you want to give the impression of not having any makeup on, coat
below the lower lashes with clear mascara only and then comb them with eyebrow
brush/comb after application. If you want really thick lashes, coat the upper
and lower lashes with clear mascara, comb them and then coat the upper and
lower lashes as with black mascara.
·
To give an extra long look to your lashes: once they dry, coat the tips
of the lashes two or three times with black mascara, while also drying and
separating the lashes between applications. If you want very long lashes, coat
them from the top.
·
To avoid clumps, dot the tip on a tissue paper and gently roll and then
apply. You can also run an eyelash brush gently through the lashes.
·
If you wear contact lenses, you might want to invest in a mascara safe
for contacts.
·
To make your lashes look their best, try to get the outer tips as well.
·
To apply a thin, but even coat (if you hate those clumps, this will
probably work no matter what kind of mascara you have --this is how
professional makeup artists apply it). Using one finger, gently lift the skin
of your upper eyelid up, then with your other hand gently stroke the mascara
wand through your lashes a few times, from the inner corner to the outer
corner, going over the tips of your lashes more than the base.
Use a credit card or any kind of card when applying mascara. Put it on
your eyelid behind your lashes and apply the mascara. This will protect your
eyelid (and your eye shadow) and help make sure you get every lash.
·
If you're wearing eye shadow and don't have a card around with you, look
down while you apply the mascara, so it will lessen the risk of getting a mascara
dot on your lid. If you do, then wait for it to dry and then wipe it away with
a cotton swab or tissue. If you panic when you see a mascara dot and you hurry
to wipe it off with water, it will smear!
How to apply Mascara
Firstly, apply all your other makeup. This includes
foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, etc. If you worry about getting mascara on
your eyeliner, you can stick a business card behind your eyelashes to prevent
smudging.
Optionally, curl your eyelashes for extra length before you put
mascara on.2
Open the mascara. Rub the end of
the mascara applicator on the inside rim of the mascara tube to get excess off.
Position yourself comfortably in
front of a mirror. Lean your dominant elbow on a firm surface. With a steady hand, place
the mascara wand at the root of your eyelashes. Gently pull the wand up to the
end of your lashes, slightly jarring the wand back and forth to separate the
lashes and prevent clumps. Repeat across your eyelashes, making sure to get
every lash.
Use a lash comb. Place the comb at
the lash roots, and gently pull up through the lashes. Do this before the
mascara has had a chance to dry, otherwise the mascara will flake off into your
eyes and down your cheek.5
Hold the mascara wand vertical. Lightly run it
along your upper and lower eyelashes to add slight color to them.
Remove any mascara smudges with
makeup remover. Place a cotton bud on the top of the smudge, and gently rotate in
place until it comes off. User your finger to blend your eye shadow back in.
BASIC HAIR CARE TIPS
Below is some basic hair care tips that you can use to improve the
health and look of your hair.
Generally A healthy lifestyle will mean healthier hair for
you. Excessive stress, smoking, not exercising and not eating nutritiously are
not healthy for your hair and also get enough sleep.
When you are using hair products like gel, mouse, hair spray
& etc, avoid using hair styling products with alcohol which dries out hair
and avoid putting hair styling products directly on your scalp; if you put it
on your scalp you'll clog the pores on your head.
If you swim, before entering a swimming pool, wet your hair so
your hair will soak up the initial water instead of the chlorinated water and
when swimming wear a cap to protect your hair from chlorinated water, if you
choose not to wear a cap make sure you shampoo and condition your hair right
after you are done swimming.
Drying your hair with hot air can be damaging to your
hair so when using a hair dryer use the cool setting. Don't leave the blow dryer
in one spot for more than a few seconds, keep it moving and at a good distance
away from your hair, to speed up the drying process, pat your hair dry with a
towel and let the remaining moisture in your hair dry naturally. Gently use
your fingers or a pick to untangle any knots while your hair is drying.

How to Reduce Under-Eye Puffiness
A late girls' night out? Have a new
infant to care for? Your eyes will show it.
Lack of sleep can lead to under-eye
puffiness. If you can't lie down and catch up on a few extra hours of sleep…
let me indulge you with some remedies to reduce eye bags and puffiness.
Apply a cool compress to your skin. Wrap a gel-filled ice pack with a soft cloth and hold the compress under each eye for two to three minutes per eye.
Once you've
treated your under-eye puffiness, hide the resulting dark circles with makeup.
A concealer stick or liquid foundation that matches your skin tone works best.
Finish your look with a light dusting of facial powder to set the makeup and
reduce any shine. Tuck the makeup in your day bag for an afternoon touch-up if
needed.

First impressions are more heavily influenced by
nonverbal cues than verbal cues. In fact, studies have found that nonverbal

you say.

Your Best Eye Colour
Colour analysis is a procedure based on the theory that everyone has a dominant colour in their skin that is either cool colour or warm colour. Cool and warm tones can be found in skin colour, eye colour and hair colour.
Not many women have considered their own colour analysis. Choosing the right colour can be the difference between looking healthy or unhealthy, thin or fat, short or tall.
When considering what suits us, most of us just choose a colour that we like rather than what suits us best.
Wearing the right colour makes you eyes sparkle and shine. What is important to consider is the colour of your eyes for a right shade of shadow. Eye shadow should always coordinate with your eyes, not your clothes.
Cool coloured eye cool dark brown, gray-blue, gray-green, blue, hazels. Warm coloured eyes are golden-brown, rich dark brown and warm hazels.
Most Asians fall under warm coloured eyes where we have dark brown eyes. What eye shadow colours are best for dark brown eyes?
Dark Brown eyes look great in grey, plum and pink tones as well as gold and burnt oranges. The intensity of colour you wear depends on your skin tone. For a fair skin, use grey on the eyelid, plum on the outer edge of the eye, and pink under the eyebrow. For a medium to deeper skin tone, the plum could be used on the lid and into the crease area.
